From the shores of Lake Garda’s turquoise waters, to the dramatic mountain backdrop of Lake Como, this unforgettable mountain bike journey takes you deep into the heart of the Italian Alps. Over six epic days you’ll tackle ancient mule tracks, high alpine passes, and rocky technical single-track that links two of Italy’s most iconic lakes.

For mountain bikers in search of true backcountry adventure, this incredible journey is one for the bucket list. Long tough climbs, rewarded with fun and challenging descents, and sweeping panoramas at every turn - from rugged mountain tops, to olive groves and wild meadows. You’ll pedal through charming mountain villages, refuel with espresso and local specialities, and rest each night in cosy, hand-picked hotels where hearty local cuisine and warm welcomes await.

Our Lake to Lake is only available to riders that have ridden with us before. This trip is technical and serious with sometimes significant exposure - so we need to be sure you can handle it and will enjoy it! It’s a step up from all of our other trips both in terms of fitness required and technical ability level.

Trip Information

Our trip begins on arrival day as all good Italian holidays should, with delicious pizza at an authentic restaurant loved by locals near our Bergamo hotel. This hopefully sets us up well for our first day of riding in the Garda area, which is steep, technical and challenging, you’ll immediately understand why we need to have ridden with you before! We finish the day by riding to the lakeshore for well-earned drinks with a stunning view as the sun sets.

From here on in, the trip ventures into ever more remote terrain. Leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Garda, we’re unlikely to see other riders or even walkers on the trails throughout the week. Each night we’ll move to a different hotel, many of which are family-owned and run, and most we’ll be able to ride to from our final descent of the day.

We spend 6 days riding, and you’ll generally have 2 guides during the week. One will act as a driver each day, and our private minibus and trailer will act as a support vehicle, shuttling us between trails as needed, and meeting us to provide lunch and snacks.

The riding each day is incredibly diverse, and some of the highlights you can expect are:

  • Ride sections of historic military roads from World War 1 high in the wild Brenta Dolomites, through tunnels carved into the rocky hillsides.

  • Traverse the rugged wilderness of the Adamello Natural Park on an epic day’s ride with an endless and physically demanding descent from a high pass.

  • Ride through Val Camonica, famed for it’s UNESCO-listed prehistoric rock carvings and dramatic glacial valleys.

  • Descend into Val Brembana, following ancient trade routes through charming mountain villages, lush forests, and down rough and rocky singletrack.

  • Indulge in authentic Italian cuisine, delicious pizzas, homemade pasta, traditional hearty dishes and sweet treats.

  • Finish with a triumphant roll down to the shimmering waters of Lake Como for a well-earned aperitivo!
