Finally the weather gods were kind to us for a trip, and the lucky guests on our inaugural Ladies of the Lakes trip enjoyed some of the best conditions the Lake District has seen so far this year!

The first day was a bit mixed, with some gnarly winds and cold rain making the last descent a bit tricky, but after that it just got better and better, until clear views and blue skies dominated, and the smell of suncream began to fill the air!

Much fun was had on four fantastic days of riding dry trails in the sunshine. From hike-a-bike adventures up Helvellyn, to lakeside finishes after whooping down long flowy trails, celebratory end of day beers in the Hotel garden, to tasty meals and chatter about the best bits of the day each evening.

There were ridiculous amounts of stoke for all the trails we rode, with everyone grinning from ear to ear at the bottom whilst fist pumps and high fives were shared.

We were able to make to most of the van and trailer uplift to fit in the best parts of 3 full rides on one of the days (avoiding too much road climbing and using the time for more fun descents instead!), and leaving time for cafe stops, ice creams, and to chill out in the sun too!

We were able to use our local trail knowledge to avoid all the busiest spots during the Bank Holiday Weekend, and instead had endless trails to ourselves for the most part! All in all a great trip, and a pleasure to share some of our favourite trails with the guests. 

We've already had enquiries about future dates for this trip, and whilst there are no dates for another women's only holiday, we have places remaining on our Lakeland Mountain Epic in June. This is the same format, staying in one cosy Lakeland hotel and using the van to access different adventurous rides each day, but open to all, male and female!
